Luces de conducción y Niebla para Cadillac SRX

Cadillac SRX Car and Truck Fog Driving Lights

The Cadillac SRX, which was in production from the year 2003 to the year 2015, is a mid-size crossover SUV that is a great vehicle for traveling. As you drive to your destination, there is a good chance that you will encounter inclement weather along the way, and this may make it difficult to see where you are driving. These driving conditions can be quite dangerous if you don’t have the proper fog lights installed in your Cadillac.

Where are the fog lights located on the SRX?

Whether you are looking at a first generation SRX or a second generation model, the fog lights are located at roughly the same location, which is under the headlights in the bumper on the front of the vehicle. The housing for each fog light is quite different. The first generation has a large rectangular design that fits the entire space that was allotted for the light, while the second generation has a round design that looks much more streamlined on the bumper.

Fog tends to accumulate about 12 to 18 inches from the ground, which is why fog lights are positioned underneath this height. Driving lights, which typically fall at this height, reflect the moisture in front of you and make it more difficult to see. Fog lights illuminate the area below that, which means that there is not a reflection beaming back into your eyes. This makes the fog seem denser than it is.

What type of bulbs can be used in fog lights?

If you need a replacement for your vehicle’s fog lamps, then you will need to know a little more about the bulb options that are available to you for your car or truck. Typically, there are three types of illumination options that you can select from, which are:

  • Halogen: These are the oldest type of lighting used for foggy weather. There are yellow and white variations that you can choose from, but they are not as common as they used to be in automobiles because more efficient options have become available.
  • HID: HID stands for high intensity discharge, and this type of bulb uses xenon gas that is energized to produce light. Because of this, the beam of light that it produces is approximately 70 percent brighter than it would be with a halogen light.
  • LED: LED lighting is designed to last longer and be more efficient in your fog lamps. This option may seem more expensive than the other options, but if you consider their lifespan, they are actually well worth purchasing as a replacement bulb. In addition, LED lighting also generates much less heat, which means the energy used goes to creating light.
Are aftermarket fog lights available in different colors?

There are aftermarket replacement options that are available in different colors. There are white, yellow, and blue replacement options available to choose from, but there are also more customized colors available if you want your replacement fog lamps to add some style to your SUV crossover.
