    Large and in charge!

    I'm not a technical person and probably haven't utilized even a quarter of the features this phone has but I discover something new about it every single day. The battery life is ridiculously long compared to all of my other phones. I'm not on my phone as much as most so it could last 2 whole days without charging. The call screening is my favorite feature since I get a lot of spam callers. It's funny to see them get a taste of their own medicine. I'm not sure if it's strictly a pixel feature but no one else I know has it. The camera is hit or miss for me. Closer photos turn out amazing but distant one's not so much. It could be because I'm not doing it right but who knows. There are so many features on this phone that I either have no idea exist or how to use that my 26yo daughter has comment "that phone is too good for you", ha ha ha, I agree, but it's still mine and she's not getting it. The ONLY issue I have (and it's not a deal breaker) is when I have to tap on something near any edge of the phone it takes a few taps before it registers. Again, this could be my fault because I have sausage fingers and that comes with the territory. Overall it's a great phone if you need one that does all types of things. Do your research before you buy any device. I bought mine for the camera (unfortunately it still adds 10 lbs to my frame no matter what camera I use) and I purchased it refurbished for a fraction of the price and haven't had any issues.

    an Android iPhone

    If you are an Android fan and have been troubled with slow response of Samsung, HTC, LG devices that are a year or two old (I came from a Note 4 and HTC One M8), then this is the phone you want. I love the smoothness in performance of the iPhones prefer Android for customization flexibility. Though not on par with the competition at the time of writing this review in June 2018, it is the best bang for the buck. Smooth app performance, extremely good ergonomics (despite a rather large form factor of the Pixel XL), good display (not as vivid as the Samsung note but better than everything else). Love the finger print reader on the back and wonder why on earth was it not put there to begin with for all the other phones so far .. better late than never I guess. Thought that lack of expandable storage would be an issue but Google photos offering unlimited storage when using this device eliminates the need for a micro SD card altogether. There are some challenges though .. but they are mostly with software at Android end than the phone itself. The native email app is Gmail and does not support encrypted Office 365 emails, Calendar does not synch either. But there are workarounds with other apps. So 8 out of 10 there. Get it if you are on a budget or are fed-up with other android devices plagued with performance issues after a 12-18 months in service ..

    Best Choice for Me

    Love this Pixel 2 XL. I've had a MOTO-X for 3 years and was never thrilled with it. AT&T was slow with OS updates. I had a Galaxy before that and those OS updates came very slow as well. However I am not an Apple guy because it is underfeatured, overrated and over priced. What Apple does do well that I wanted is make good pictures, update their OS on a regular basis, good signal in weak areas. So with Pixel 2 XL I got a fantastic camera with amazing pictures, I get Android updates for 3 years first before everybody else, I got the size that is perfect for me, I got clear sound and using voice command I can send a text message sitting in a noisy basketball crowd. Voice to text is super fast and commands work great. Did in front of a co-worker to show off. He was impressed and said that is the way Siri was suppose to work but it just cannot perform. Who was grinning, I was grinning. So glad I picked this phone, it's expensive but it's worth every dime! I use mine on Consumer Cellular GSM AT&T signal with best number of bars.

    Great Phone!

    Feels good to get upgraded from MOTO X (4.7" screen and used for 4 years..phone is still in great condition) to Google Pixel XL 2 (6" screen) and hoping it will last the same... Within couple of days updated the phone to Android 9 and problem of seeing blue light (You can refer to any Youtube videos) when you tilde the phone is gone with latest update. After 24 hours of my regular usage, I'm still left with 30-40% charging (I never charged 100%..think some issue with my charger) and which gives me a big relief but you definitely need to carry the charger along with you if you are out of town for couple of day as they have their new designed charging cable. (I think it's a big drawback as Rapid chargers come with no USB type on one end). Phone is quick in response and launches all the apps without any issues... Great recommend to buy this phone if you receive in your budget!

    A++ Effort by Google

    This phone is head and shoulders above the original Google Pixel in every respect, Google listened to the critics and stormed back with this new and improved Pixel 2 XL. I love everything about the phone especially the setup time and data transfer aspect. The new Android Oreo OS is the ultimate. Camera is good if not great, I am not a photo enthusiast but do take my fair share. Very sleek and stylis especially in the "black n white" color scheme. I test, use, purchase lots of smartphones, I find all the brands seems comparable including up and comers like Motorola an Asus but Google got this right this time. No dropped calls, clarity is great, the sound system is nice. Overall I'd give it a 10.

    Phenomenal Value!

    I adore this Google Pixel XL. I got this one for under $200. The features are extremely impressive and the memory even more so. The camera is supposed to take great pics but I've never been much of a picture taker. The USB-C charger port is a wonderful upgrade from the old Android chargers. The battery life could be better. I keep it on battery saver mode so that it can get me through half of the day. The picture in picture features are a bit of a nuisance but you can dump it in the settings. I imagine TV junkies might really like it, though. Going from a ZTE ZMAX PRO to this phone has been a breath of fresh air without breaking the bank.

    Great multi-purpose phone that does it all really well

    The phone is fantastic. It runs smoothly with a lot of apps running at the same time, it takes great pictures and videos (my hand is generally shaky and the photos and videos are clear, smooth and look professional), and the battery lasts almost 2 full days even when I use it very frequently. I see this phone as being a multi-purpose device, and it does a great job for each of its purposes. I also like the feature to eliminate the blue light on the screen whenever you want (including on a timed schedule) to improve your sleep. Overall, this phone exceeded my expectations and I think it will exceed yours as well (unless you have the Pixel 3 XL).

    Smartphone Sweetspot!

    Awsome product, well thought out, and includes features that make it very easy to use. This is a phone that is definitely at the head of its class. I left a Samsung S7 edge to move to this phone and haven't lookIed back. The Samsung is a very good phone but this one is so much better in both features and ease of use. Really glad I made the switch and, to ice the cake, changed my carrier to Project Fi. The coverage seems to be better, it is less expensive, and the tech support is outstanding. I feel like I have definitely hit the Smartphone sweetspot now!

    Still a fantastic phone and an unbeatable value!

    The Pixel XL is still a fantastic phone in 2019. There is no need to buy an expensive new phone. This is a premium Google flagship with great software, the screen is great, it has a headphone hack, tons of memory, runs latest Android Pie and there is a chance it will get the next Android Q. If not its still a great phone. It still has one of the best cameras of any phone as well. I'd recommend this phone esp at such a low price over many many new phones. Buy this phone + prepaid carrier of your choice and save lots of money.

    The Pixel 2 xl is a great phone, worth every cent

    I don't usually do reviews but I thought I ought to do one now. This is a great phone especially with Android 10. I get great battery life up to 6 hrs of on screen time with about 25% left in the battery at the end of the day. The unit I purchased had screen burn but it's hardly noticeable and only on white screens. The blue shift isn't an issue because I never look at my phone at a 45 degree angle. The OS is smooth, responsive - this is a great phone, worth every cent. Highly recommended!
