Chevrolet Uplander Interior Door Panels and Parts

Sometimes the panels, clips, and screws in Chevrolet doors get damaged. The Chevrolet Uplander with an automatic transmission has standard front driver and passenger doors and rear sliding doors that use a wide selection of parts and equipment. Here is the information you need to get the right items to repair or replace the door panels on your Uplander.

Can you get a repair kit for Uplander door panels?

You can get a variety of parts for the interior doors of your Uplander. You’ll need to know which ones you need to repair your doors. Common items include retainer clips, interior door trim panels, and door handles. Retainer clips are used to hold the door trim panel in place. You can replace worn clips and damaged handles individually. However, if the door panel won’t remain secured, you’ll need to replace it.

Can you replace the clips and screws only?

You can replace the clips and screws in your Chevrolet Uplander door panel. If the panels are loose, you should determine if the screws and clips are stripped or damaged. If the plastic clips fall out, you may be able to easily put in new clips. Check the threading on the screws. If it is worn, you may be able to replace them and secure your door panel. You should also check the doors and hardware for cracks and other damage to determine if you need a completely new door panel.

Are there different types of door panels you can use?

You need to know if you need front driver side, front passenger side, rear sliding left, or rear sliding right panels. It also helps if you know your model year because some interior parts can be used across different General Motors vehicles. For example, some nylon retainer clips work in Buicks, GMCs, and Chevys.

How do you remove and install Uplander door panels?

You can replace a minivan door panel fairly quickly. First, gather the tools you need: a flathead screwdriver, a pair of large pliers, a putty knife, and a 10-millimeter socket ratchet. Next, pry the electric panel off with the screwdriver and remove the plugs and the handle. Use the socket to remove the screws. You can then use your fingers or the putty knife to remove the panel, starting at the side of the mirror. Then, work your way around the door, pulling it away from each clip. With the panel off, you can replace the damaged or missing clips and retainers. Then, you can put your existing or replacement door panel on, making sure each clip is secure. Replace the screws and put the electric panel back in place.
