GMC Envoy Window Motors and Parts
GMC featured their midsize SUV, the Envoy, for model years 1998 through 2000, and they brought it back again for 2002 through 2009. One aspect of later GMC autos is that electrical window parts have become a standard interior fixture. Why wont the GMC Envoy drivers window go down?There are a couple of parts that you might want to investigate on your GMC. The power regulator is the part that controls the movement. It moves as the car window moves. Your GMC Envoys motor is a stationary device that provides the power to the regulator. If you can hear the motor running when you attempt to adjust the window up or down, chances are the motor is functioning.
Why is the passenger side window tilting back and forth?One possibility is that your Envoys window regulator clip needs to be replaced. The GMC Envoy regulator may also require either repair or replacement if your windows mechanism isnt functioning properly. Since the clip is the least troublesome of the two to repair, you might want to start there and adjust your window to see if that was the repair needed. Does the same window regulator fit the 2000 and 2009?The same GMC Envoy truck window regulator will fit 1998 through 2000 windows. The 2009 is part of the generation of SUVs that GMC brought back on the market. Also, note that the regulators are not common between the two GMC Envoy autos.

Why are both back windows stuck on the GMC Envoy?The universal lock mechanism on the GMC drivers door is a good place to start checking in this situation, especially if you only notice the back windows with this problem. Theres a chance that the switch was locked without anyone realizing it.
If, on the other hand, none of the windows are functional on your GMC Envoy, then a few scenarios could have occurred. Start with the fuse first. If the fuses appear to not be blown, then move on to the relay.
